英语就是这样(12) 多余的字。

讲惯了华语，突然来了一个急转弯要将英语，我们会与人交淡中用上了多余的句子。

例子一： Please help the poor people.

People 是多余的。 Please help the poor 就可以了。

所以，病人 the sick people 可用 the sick 就可。

富有的人the rich people 可写做 the rich.就可。

有时，我们从报章上阅读到，有钱的没有钱的，英语是 the have (有的) and the haven’t （没有的）。

下例的句子，注意多余的字：

1．Can you repeat again? Repeat is 重复的意思。Again 也是重复。句子出现两次的重复。 须改为 Can you repeat? Or Can you say again?

2．I will return back to my hometown. Return是返回的意思back也带有归回的意思。句子出现两次的“回” 须改为 I will return to my hometown. Or I will go back my hometown.

3．My hobby is reading books. Books 可以删除掉 可改为 My hobby is reading。

4．I like listening to music. Listening to可以删除掉 改为 I like music.

5．His car is red colour. Colour可以删除掉 改为 His car is red.
