动词短语 Phrasal Verb(7)

Drop out 是退出，辍学，停学，离去的意思。它可当着名词，也可当着动词。

（名词）

1．He was a school dropout.

他是一位辍学者。

2．Because of his serious illness, he became a school dropout.

基于他的病情严重，他成为了一名辍学者。

一般上，当Drop out 变至名词是，Drop out 从两个字合成一个字 dropout 或 drop-out

（动词）

1． We are going to drop out of the plan as we may not have enough manpower.

我们要退出该计划因为我们可能没有足够的人手。

2． He resigned and later moved to another company and finally dropped out.

他辞职后来转到另一家公司并最终又离去了。

3． The Authority is trying very hard to prevent students dropping out of it.

注意： 如果drop out的后面是名词，要用上of来连接！
