动词短语Phrasal Verb

“我已经把这个交给他了。” 从英语的直接翻译，有人会说：“ I have passed over the thing to him。”

“我会交上这文件。” 从英语的直接翻译，有人会说：“I will pass up the document。”

在英语，当动词(VERB) 的后面是介词(PREPOSTION)，它就变了动词短语（PHRASAL VERB），原本的意思也跟着改，意思也不一样了。

Pass 可译为传 ，通过，经过，过， 但 pass加了 over 在后面，它的意思就是忽略，不理。如I passed over the broken one and choose the good one. 我不理那些坏的只选好的。

“我已经把这个交给他了。” 从英语的直接翻译，比较正确的是把宾语（OBJECT）放在动词(VERB) 的后面就不会词不达意。 “ I have passed the thing over to him。”

Pass up 除了是“交上”的意思之外，它也可译为没选上。 如 : During the selection process, the committee passed Peter up and chose Richard. The Committee passed up Peter. 在挑选过程中，该委员会没选彼得而选择了理查德。该委员会不选彼得。

As we were tired after a long journey, we decided to pass up many interesting places.
