一想起neither, 我们就立刻想到它的联贯的 nor。似乎Neither 不可单独使用。其实不然，neither 可单字用上的。
Neither parent went to meet the headmaster.
父亲没去母亲也没去见校长
Neither of us enjoyed the show.
我们这一群人都没有享受那电影。
在交谈时，我们可用neither 来简化我们的回答。
John: “ Judy, which would you like to have, tea or coffee?”
约翰：“朱迪，你要喝茶还是咖啡？”
Judy: “ Neither, please ”
朱迪：“两者都不要！谢了”
A：I hate pop music. I can’t even listen to it
A: 我讨厌流行音乐。我甚至不能听它.
B: Neither can I
B: 我也不能.
注意 B 的答复是Neither can I 而不是Neither I can。还有neither 是用在两者或两个事与物之间的否定性质，不可拿both 来代替。
