1．TAKE FRENCH LEAVE - 法国的假期？？？

它的意思 是：离开时，没有对任何人道别，静静的离去;不告而别

例子： Peter always took French Leave again and nobody knew when he would come back to meet us.

彼得总是不告而别，没有人知道他什么时候回来看看我们！

2．CLOSE BUT NO CIGAR：没有雪茄而关了？？？？？

它的意思: 枉费心机。

例子: He tried very hard but only was beaten to the second place.

他很努力但还是得到第二名。

3．A PIECE OF CAKE - 一块蛋糕？？？？

它的意思 是: 很容易。

例子: The mathematics test is just a piece of cake to me

对我来说数学测试太容易了！

例子: You are just drive me bananas by asking me to finish the work within 30 minutes.

它的意思: 不能再忍受了！

例子: Mary decided to file a notice of divorce . I think it was the last straw when she was beaten by her husband last night.
