We have politicians but no statesman

Sometimes it is quite an illusion reading some statements made by our political opposition contradicting with the passage of times. It clearly shows their political gimmicks with playful orchestra to amuse and please the public without any sense of maturity and interests of rakyat in heart.

The 2016 Budget is undeniably full of goodies for Sabahans and Sarawkians and most people especially those from Sabah and Sarawak would hail it as the budgeted projects and infrastructure have been overdue. Some MPs from Pakatan had lambasted the Government in the past for neglect of these states. Ironically, when the 2016 Budget was tabled in the parliament, these MPs had not shown positive applause but made negative response.

Similarly, when the budgets were giving incentives and reliefs to business corporate and enterprising to promote their industries, some of the opposition MPs chided the Government for not people friendly and termed the budget as Richman or Businessman Budget. However, In the 2016 Budget, the Government raised the personal income tax from 25% to 26% for those earning between RM600,000 to RM1 million and from 25% to 28% for those earning RM1 million and above, some MPs from the opposition negated contradictorily.

The above scenario has been a norm in Malaysia politics. The reason is simple because we don’t have any statesman but only politicians without any maturity but greed of power.
